In
1924, the Anglo of Uruguay, supplanted the famous Liebig`s
Company. The 47 years it developed meat proccessing
technology here coincided with times of conflicts and war
in Europe. Fray Bentos became the kitchen of the world and
symbolized quality meat. Thousands of people worked in the
“frigorífico” which increased and diversified the use
of agricultural products. The Frigo, operating until 1980,
presented the opportunity for the creation of this unique
museum. Here, one can see the original machinery and
social and cultural artifacts of the technological
revolution in Fray Bentos.
